Seit seiner ärztlichen Assistenzzeit seit 1986 beschäftigte sich Dr. Stoohs intensiv mit den Aufgaben der Schlaftherapie = Nicht-erholsamer Schlaf.

Internationale Reputation

Dr. Stoohs war an mehreren Forschungseinrichtungen (Medizinische Fakultät Marburg und später Professor an der Stanford Universität, Palo Alto, California, USA) tätig und erarbeitete sich umfassende Kenntnisse auf diesem Gebiet.

1996 gründete er mit seinem ärztlichen Kollegen, Dr, H.-C. Blum,  die Somnolab Privatkliniken für Schlafmedizin in Deutschland. 2005 wurde unter seiner Leitung das Somnolab Essen, Schlaflabor am Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus, eröffnet. Zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen untermauern seinen fortgesetzten Anspruch an die Qualität in der Schlafmedizin.
