Obstructive sleep apnea: Risk groups
Sleep apnea can affect anybody. Middle aged adults, seniors, women and men and even children. Men are more often affected than women. But the frequency in women strongly increases after the menopause. Obesity is a strong determinant of OSAS. Weight reduction can help but it is not a guarantee that sleep apnea will disappear.
